Andrea Gaspar, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist practicing in Chicago with a focus on the treatment of trauma and sexual abuse utilizing Jungian and somatic approaches. She is a graduate of the Jungian Studies Program and was a Fellow of the Jungian Psychotherapy Program at the C. G. Jung Institute of Chicago and has served as that program’s Co-Director since 2021. Dr. Gaspar also co-developed and co-directed the six-month training program Memories, Dreams, Reflections: Exploring the Depths with colleagues Adina Davidson and Daniel Ross. She has presented on body symbolism, archetype, collective psyche, and trauma at conferences of the Jungian Society for Scholarly Studies, joint conference of the IAAP/IAJS, International Society for Theoretical Psychology, and the 2026 Annual APA Convention. She has also lectured on psychodynamic theory and intervention as adjunct faculty for doctoral students and presented workshops for the C. G. Jung Institute of Chicago on trauma, the collective, and art. Her current research is focused on collective psyche, cultural complex, and the application of trauma theory to the historical and current sociopolitical climate. Dr. Gaspar will be presenting a paper on these topics at the 7th Conference of Analysis and Activism in Mexico City in October 2026.
Dr. Gaspar is also a performance artist and activist, and she experiences imagination and symbolic work as a site of personal and collective resistance. Her poetry, spoken word performances, and cabaret focus on personal and collective experiences of power and oppression. She is also involved in supporting various human rights organizations and actions, particularly during recent and ongoing CPB and ICE operations in Chicago.
